Designing the cover of Stella Torres’ Crushingly Close

Let’s interrupt another hiatus! This time, with a book tour 🙂 But this isn’t your ordinary book tour post, mind you. It’s so happened that I don’t just know the author, but I was the one who made the book cover as well! In this post, I’ll tell you as much as I can about my process, and how we eventually got to the cover you’re seeing now.

Cover Reveal: Chameleon (The Domino Project #1)

Let’s do something different on the blog! I know I haven’t been blogging much, but life happened. Writing happened. I’m currently editing my first novel. There isn’t much to say about it until it’s actually published — or represented, for that matter — so I’ll keep mum about it for now. But if you’ve been following me on Twitter, you’ll have an idea what it is I’m working on 🙂

Speaking of Twitter… One of the writerly folks I’ve met online is KT Hana, and she’s got a cover for her upcoming book for you to see! As a science fiction fan, I’m really looking forward to reading her story. Check it out, and join the raffle! 🙂

Hi there, stranger!

I'm Gail, a Filipina author based in the Philippines. I run a design studio with my husband in the outskirts of Manila, but I also do freelance copywriting and editing on the side. • Happy Independence Day! 🇵🇭 Let's remember all the heroes who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today, & take this moment to examine the effects of colorism & colonial mentality on our people & country.

To celebrate, I'm posting this excerpt from my upcoming book 😊❤️ #novel19s @novel19s

  • #authorlifemonth Day 6: Awesome Moment. There are a lot of awesome moments in my writing life (and more coming soon), but that day I visited my grandma, my Mama Nena, to tell her about signing with such an amazing agent is my first proudest moment as an author. You see, Mama Nena was the one who taught me to read. I couldn't keep up with my classmates, so Mama Nena spent every day after school with me, using my affinity for art to associate words with meanings. Without her, I wouldn't be the writer that I am now. 💕😊
  • #authorlifemonth Day 5: book setting. I'm a bit late, and I likely won't be able to post daily, but today's theme is just so hard to pass up! 😄 My book takes place in different parts of Metro Manila, but it begins in a park inside a fictional gated subdivision in Quezon City, somewhere near Katipunan Avenue. 🌴🇵🇭🌴
